dumb question

Post by ISBB »

OK judging by my logic might be fine might not be.. However..

Does the mounting spots for the coil need to be ground down to bare metal for grounding reasons? or will just bolting them back into the holes be suffice? I am thinking about taking a dremel and grinding a small spot of the fresh paint off so there is somethign to ground too...

It is best to get down to bare metal and not just rely on the bolts for contact

If I had a dollar for every time a dude asked... " Hey , I painted my bike, and now it wont start", I'd be a rich man...

I maybe retentive, but I grind the paint off the frame and then use diaezo paste to keep the bare metal (steel frames) from rusting and get a good electrical connection.
