I finally got www.active.com to work for me and reminded myself I am entered for the 40+ Novice race on Saturday at 11:00 AM and the Open Novice race on Sunday at 11:45 AM. I plan on running the CR500AF in both. I might bring my CA-plated WR400F and run the Dual Sport class on Sunday morning. The '79 CR250R siezed at Day in the Dirt and is being repared to run the local California Vintage MX/AHRMA series. I can only imagine what the Adelanto whoops would be like on nearly 30-year old suspension...

In a moment of madness I sold the '83 CR480R, but kept all the extras I'll need when I buy its replacement.

From the desert vipers
Notice to all Adelanto Grand Prix Participants:
There are quite a few changes to the overall track configuration, so please carefully read all of the enclosed information. Our new start line will be located on Koala Road just north of the Rancho Road intersection. The easiest way to find this intersection (see map on back) from sign-ups is to go back to Air Expressway, take a right and go one block to Bellflower, which is the first stop sign. Take a left at Bellflower and go one block to the stop sign at Rancho Road. Take a right and drive west about one mile to Koala. The Moto-X track will be the Adelanto Motor Plex, which is located on Rancho Road about one mile west of Koala. The Motor Plex is where we have located the vendors, the finish line, and the grandstands. We hope you like the new course layout and Moto-X track configuration. The big problem is there will be no automobile parking or camping inside the Motor Plex, and there are very few campsites and parking areas in the surrounding desert. The Sheriff’s Department has asked us to erect a barricade at the intersection of Rancho Road and Koala and limit traffic west on Rancho Road while races are being held. Please adhere to the following guidelines:
· Rancho Road is comprised of three roadways. The top main roadway of Rancho Road is restricted to pedestrian access and emergency vehicles. This is important. Do not drive any vehicles on this top road section! The lower two sections of the road are open to our shuttle, and all other traffic, including bikes, quads, and Rhinos.
· Once racing starts each day, we will close this road to RVs. There are very few campsites down near the track, the desert is very soft sand, and maneuvering your rig will be very difficult.
· There will be many parking spaces on Koala Road just south of Rancho Road. Drop off your car and either walk, take our free shuttle, or ride a bike or quad.
· If you ride a bike or quad down to the Motor Plex, we suggest you leave it in the impound area just inside the gate of the facility. However, we cannot ensure your bike’s safety or security, therefore bring a lock to make sure it’s there when you return.
· The PeeWee and Kid’s race will not start at the big bike start line. They will start at the Motor Plex, therefore participants will be allowed to bring their bikes down Rancho Road and drop them off at the track for their Saturday race only.
· The Team Race pit area will be along side the Moto-X track inside the Motor Plex. Team race participants will be allowed to drive a vehicle down Rancho Road to drop off a fuel can and spare parts. After you drop off your fuel and spares, we will direct you to a parking area.
· There will be no play riding around the course, nor in the Motor Plex. Helmets must be worn at all times and the Sheriff’s Department will be enforcing this rule. Tickets will be issued, so please be smart, use your head, don’t play ride around town, and you will have an enjoyable weekend. Thank you.

You can stay with us if you want, that's the whole reason we're staying away from the track.britincali wrote:I went there yesterday and marked off two 25x25 camping spots right by where the track goes into the MX section, its gonna definatly be a cluster this time
