Cool head with Meth cut dome.

I called Pete Loomis and talked to him about machine work he pointed me to a guy who is custom building the lectron for me , Ill be running a Loomis cyl. on this, and wont be running any Nitro in it until I get it running for a while.
Ill keep ya posted. some of the parts are back orderd and are a few weeks out so I should have this thing running in march .
I also have a new CDI headed this way from S/H I think Ill be puting my other lighting coil on this bike and putting the S/H on the 99AFC

In our testing MR-pro2 is 3hp in a tuned ktm125 2stroke
and MRpro4 made 4 hp in a ktm250 4 stroke More than using u-2 or u-4. Thats some sweet pour in power! Ktm canada and honda canada are going to try and use it exclusivly until the dammn '09 no leadded fuel rules get here.

its to replace the bad unit I got on it right now, But with bumping up the compression a little more and running the cool head Ill lose the compression release in the head that Pete cut for me last year. so Ill put the E-line on the sand bike and put the S/H coil on the AFC.

I guess I should pull the trany down as if I remember correctly the 97 would have a hard time shifting fron 2nd to 3rd . never been into a trany before My need some help here.

I also checked into an shifter From Pingel but I am out of $$
it will be the next mod after I get it running

You can go all out and buy a nitrous pump for around $500 to do it properly.

I copied stoffers setup and got hold of a 20lb bottle, 2ft of 4an hose and a $20 scale off ebay.

I slap the small bottle in the freezer and sit the big one next to a heat source (blowtorch, heatgun, heater in the camper)

Connect both bottles, open the taps and voila the little one fills up.

As long as there is a big enough temp difference I can get 3lb in the 2.5 lb bottle, you won't be able to get all the nos out of the big one without a pump tho.

Cost me $200 for the 20lber (full) $20 for the scale and $10 for the hose.

I know that if i fill a 10lb bottle by the freezer method the bottle holds a denser charge, sounds stupid, but measuring what leaves my big tank the freezer method does take more liquid into the cyl than my nos brand pump does.
Dont make the mistake of having a bottle on the bike thats too small. When the nitrous leaves the bottle the bottle cools and you loose pressure and reach a richer fuel mixture. get a bigger bottle, and it wont cool off as much = denser nitrous.
When i was truck pulling I used a fullsize tank 55lbs of nitrous and painted it black. I needed to add weight to the truck anyways, black in the sun also helps boost the pressure. I had a 500hp stock bore stock stroke chevy 350, and added 200hp of nitrous to it. It was also my daily driver.
At 4900 lbs that was a sweet machine to drive, I have 25 miles of gravel roads between work and home, so with the setup i had on the suspension she handled great, but pull another 200hp of nitrous into it on gravel and u'd better have it in 4x4! Wasn't til i got my first 500 a year after selling the truck that i had as much fun.

The only way I can get my tanks empty here is to take the tank and roll it out in the sun to get er heate up and then pump it out. I always send my cores back with atleast 3-4lbs of unaccessable nitrous. And ya, the dentist nitrous works dammn good too, maybee better.

Here on the east coast I believe Ohio was the area they did alot of running they were running I believe 50% nitro and I think it was a guy named Jeff Thomas who had all the stuff worked out on nitro.

There were several people running nitro and had it worked out for hill shooting. What they were running was the OLD 84 cylynder on newer bottom ends with bored out 44 munkuni's and I believe no needle just custon jetts or huge jetts and a big fuel pump with like a double fuel bowl.

They claimed to of had all the bugs worked out and I believe Jeff won the Championship on it on nitro. This was about 9 years ago however.

Thet said the water cooled cylinder in stock form could not take it,I believe they blew head gaskets.

Your buddy FREEMER has run methanol with that setup on water cooled cr500 engines since the early 90's. His machines smoked everything but the 15 thousand dollar Banshees. Maybe we can get him to post some pics of his carbs. He had to drill out jets to make them big enough, and the double bowls where added to the carbs so no fuel pumps were needed.

If this is a full on straight line hill drag bike, I wouldn't waste my time with the pingel air shifter and have someone cut you a override tranny that you can shift without using the clutch. I think the air shifter is going to be more trouble than it's worth. With a override you use the clutch to launch, then never use until the end of your run you must pull the clutch in. You can't let the engine decilerate the way these work or you will screw your shifting forks up.

If I were you, I would also call Dennis Packard and get a big lectron alky carb. He will set one up for Nitromethane applications as well. He has them from 44 to 50 mm in size. The large ones have a full float bowl with floats plus an additional 1/2 float bowl with float. They also have a big bowl. With what you are doing, I would run a fuel pump. I know guys that have the new Sabertooth 500 (95 mm bore) Honda TRX 250r quad based cylinder, drag on alky with this carb and they were still having some issues feeding this motor with a fuel pump. It appears this Packard carb and a bigger pump has cleaned this problem up. This is on a 300 ft sand drag track, not up Dunmont or Glamis sand hills. You will need a pump.

I agree... Gravity fed, traveling uphill with periods of negitive "G", through a "gas" sized needle and seat aint going to cut it .

The Speedway guys use dual, 5/16" fuel lines.

You gotta feed it.... plenty!

Dennis Packard built my big lectron 44 alky carb with his billet bowl and I got the Pingel guzzler alky petcock and a Mukini vacuum operated multi line fuel pump. We also got the NE electric pump for the N02.
