Whats going in the main fuel tank?

If you make what you want out of stiff cardboard, I can see how much my fab guy would want to duplicate it in aluminum..

I was hopping that we could use your fab conections, do you think he can come up with a tank cap also?
should I use like poster board and glue it together would that work?
thanks

Then why not 100% C-12?

If your going through all the hassles of two fuel systems, Methanol in the main system, nirtomethane in the N20 system works for me!

You could use a cap like this.

I wonder how long the motor would last ? methanol fuel and say 25% nitro
in the N20 . I would want a long lasting motor, this set up will be going into my sand bike and we where kinda thinking that the Methanol would help keep the bike cool and be a long lasting motor. the N20 Nitrous express wet set up would give it that little extra ump to get my big ass up the hill and the 2nd fuel because you get more HP gain out of race gas and N20 , than Methanol & N20.

So if we where to run nitro as the 2nd fuel at what raito % could I safely run ? I dont know anything about Methanol & nitromethane.

Nitro = lots of work and maintenance. You'll get lots of power but is it worth the hassle? I believe Paul said you need 2 float bowls to do it, they get sucked dry. I am no expert on this put not many guys run nitro on the 500's. One of my friends finally got one to run and run well but lots of work. Different cylinder, head, carb, etc..... Get on the bottle with some METH  and see what happens. Shit Jay, run some NOS period, it will move ou up the hill :P

If you set the nos wet jet up with nitro you dont need to worry about your carb or bowl, you'd just have to run a huge fuel jet vs the nos one.

I like this idea a lot run with it J!

I believe you need 2 fuel systems because the methanol will eat your seals and absorb water, so it needs to be flushed out with regular gas at the end of every ride. Most guys just drain the tank, fill it with like a qt of gas and run that through. I was looking into some seals that can put up with methanol, but not one showed any interest and the place wants a minimum 100pc order.
Jay, this should be cool! do a detailed write up for us, I'm very interested!

You should really quit dinking around with 500's and get an air cooled open bike. I've seen some great buys on 1428 KZ's....
If you've never ridden an open bike, you need to

i think slomas has the right idea. sooner or later you run out of options with a cr5. something like harold wadell gsxr600 or 1000 setup for sand would be the ultimate bike
