My old job

Post by britincali »

I was watching "how its made" on TV last month and they did a show on curling stones, the village I grew up in had a granite quarry with the hardest granite in the world and had never been blasted with nitro so it was almost fracturless.

I worked there for almost 4 years cutting stone for building and making curling stones, all the competition stones came from our quarry as they dint chip or wear out.

It tripped me the hell out to see the quarry I worked at and my old boss (the guy showing where tho cut the stone) on TV over here , before the camera pans onto the quarry in the first qlip you can even make out our hotel , there's a concrete hut in the first clip that I spent countless hour sheltering from the rain.

Anyway I did everything in this vid up until the granite core was shipped out the be put on a lathe and rounded off.

Pretty cool seeing your old workplace on TV :D

While working in Canada, I was drinking beers with some of the locals and brought up curling. They all looked at me and laughed. One of the guys said "Curling is for pussies that can't play hockey!"

Figgers which one Brit was involved with :homo:
