cr500 with velvet seat- YEEEAAH BAAABBBYY

Post by 100hp honda »

why would you do something like this?? WHY?. not that everything in the world needs a rational explation but in this case, the reason for this seat DEMANDS a rational explanation

It was all the rage 25 years ago. I had a velvet seat on my ATC 110 back in 1980. It's a dune thing, and you used to see many bikes outfitted with them.Image

But when I ride nude I need something to keep my sticky arse from getting chaffed by the cold vinyl. Right now I run a silk covered cusion from a lawn chair. I just flip it up and outta the way when I need to, then flip it back when the seat is frozen in the morning. Plus the traction blows this stupid gripper crap away!

I'll admit, I dig the velvet seat cover. I don't think I'd ride that bike without a matching purple cape around my neck and my pimp hat zip tied to my helmet, though.

If you're going to be obnoxious, you may as well take it over the top, instead of half-assing it!

Alright, I'm going to be "that guy"...

It doesn't feel any more slick than the stock vinyl. $10 spare ebay seat + $5 worth of maroon velvet = Suave Knievel starter kit.
