FMF silencer measurement

Post by TJC510 »

anyone have a FMF Q exhaust that can take some measurments for me. i need the main body length (not including the endcap) and the distance to the end of the main body to the rear most mount.

im trying to figure out if i can use the Q and keep it hidden behind the enormous side panel on the 250f without buying one.

The body is 15" long and a little over 4" from center of the back mount. Mine is of a 98 steel frame and is on a 03 250R AF. Had to cut the piece that hooks to the pipe and change the angle but nothing real major. The tab closest to the pipe is straight on the steel and needs tweeked to match the AF subframe, but not cut. I was real happy the way it turned out. In all it's about 2" longer than the silencer from SH( FMF ) Hope that helps

thanks for measuring, but are you sure its a Q? my prociruit silencer (nature friendly) is the same length and the Q is suppose to be longer and quieter.

I'd have to agree there.

You'll get better performance running a Turbine Core 2 at roughly the same noise level, maybe a smidge louder. Nothing you'd notice anyway.

well noise is a big thing for me, this year there are 9 enduros, 5 of them have sound tests. i just want to be able to go threw sound test and get my scorecard without any hassle. my pc was old, beat up, and leaking everywhere...
even the stock crf250r was quieter as long as you didn't open the throttle to much. i just figure if its any quieter at all id be better than what i have.

im leaning toward the pc 296 though, never did like FMF to much.

I've never had a problem running the Jackpine with a T/C

The PC sparky sux. The Turbine Core is a lot less restrictive, and it will slide right into a PC pipe
