whats a good price 01 cr250

someone on another forum is selling it and he said make offer. whats reasonable I just took it in on a trade. The motor needs a piston and crank bearing otherwise looks very clean (kid did not mix his gas right on the first ride, he was the second owner) Not ridden musch in it's life....The whole rest of the bike is super clean and the suspension will fit just about any full size Honda.
Please make fair offers on the parts and I will pay the shipping

my dad picked up a 00 cr250 last year that broke the rod near the wrist pin and punched a hole in the cylinder. put a new jug and a rod kit on it and we've been riding it ever since. PC pipe and silencer/spark arrestor. he paid $1000 for it.

sounds similar, just something else wrong with the motor.

so the motor is locked tighter that a nun on sunday morning eh?? be awfully hard to get a decent price from the motor in that condition. wonder what kind of tranny oil he used- or didnt use. being it was a "kid" that owned it, a person might be able to swindle him out of it for a steal of a price. thats the problem with other peoples broken shit, without seeing it first hand and assesing the "true" damage, you could lose your ass on the deal. did he happen to say a price he wanted?? if he wanted like $1200, that wouldnt be bad, even if the WHOLE motor isnt salvageable, you still get a FULL rolling chassis for $1200, then you could get a few bucks from the 250 pipe, electronics , etc on ebay. be into it $1000 max for a full '01 roller, which dont seem like a bad price, provided it isnt all banged up, busted plastic or bent frame

I wouldn't pay more than $1200 like 100hphonda was saying. I got my '97 running for $900.
