Ok, I am going to make a first post for a planned ride here in Northern Az.(Prescott area). To make sure there is plenty of time for everyone to plan for it, I'm gonna set the date for the 3rd weekend in March (tentative). I would like it to be a 2 day ride starting Saturday and ending around 4pm Sunday. Day one will be a forest ride from a camp site in the small pines close to my house to allow for easy access to things that folks might need to use. Phones and luxuries are limited when in these parts, you will need to have supplies and Everything you need for 2 days of riding and camping. Im going to pre run the trail to make sure it will be a very fun experience for a cr500 rider. This means you WILL hit 5th gear!

The ride will be a loop so that everyone can make it back to the camp site after a FULL days ride. A refueling spot 2.5 hours into the ride will be setup. Now just because there will be spots of high speed, doesn't mean there won't be some grueling sections as well, that is unavoidable here. Sunday will be a scenic ride through cowboy country. This will be a long high speed ride through vast meadows, followed by a enduro style trip back to a pick up spot along a remote dirt road. Or if desired, refueling can be done in order to ride all the way back to the camp. Pre running will be done for the sunday ride as well in order to optimize the adventure. Details on getting here shortly, and there is no limit as to what size and type of rig can make it here. All roads here are paved and only minimal dirt road driving to the camp site will be needed. I will also post pictures soon detailing the terrain, which includes rocks, sand, dirt, trees, hills, peaks, valleys, basically everything except cactus hehe.

Expect to experience things not commonly associated with Arizona, like cold at night, and wet/muddy trails. This is not Phoenix, this is the high plains and it is very rural and remote. Deer, antelope, wild boars, coyotes, mountain lions and all manner of wild life will be on display. If you are frightened by wild animals, bring a gun. Access to downtown, will be easy for anyone that needs supplies, or hospitalization. NO stupidity will be allowed and everyone will be expected to use common sense while riding. Anyone that acts inappropriately will be asked to leave. So make plans now to ride your cr500 in Arizona!
