Rider down!

Post by Hellbear »

We had our friend Randy Wilms die on Monday evening out in El Mirage. He went head on with a dune buggy and died at the scene. He was only 20 god damn years old and loved riding, raced desert, and vintage bikes.

Rest in peace bro and have fun riding in that big desert in the sky. You will be missed by many.

Randy was taken under the wings of our family, he was like a son and this is turning out to be really hard for me. Everybody did everything they could to revive him, my wife gave him CPR for over 20 minutes spitting his blood from her mouth in between breathes. The internal trauma was just too severe. Randy was just ready to transition into Speedway and had purchased two bikes to get started. I had been helping him out with his stand up wheelies just 30 minutes prior to this tragedy and even complemented him after the ride for doing one so well it gave me the chills, he smiled and laughed. I have helmet cam footage of him and I ripping stand ups down the lakebed. I love you dearly brother and you will never be forgotten!! This is the last digital picture I have of him with my little sister at our H.B. vacation home taken just a few months ago.

R.I.P.- Randy Wilms- 1987-2007.

Thanks Bob and Brit, she keeps surprising the hell out of us too! I'll be sure to relay message.

As soon as I am able to type a few paragraphs without breaking down, I'll post up a more complete story of the happenings.
I really miss this kid!!!!

Hamil posted this on the other site and I liked it so here it is....

In one of the stars
I shall be living
In one of them I shall be laughing
and so it will be
as if all the stars are laughing
when you look at the night sky
and when your consoled
(eventualy everyone is consoled)
You'll be glad you've known me!

I had that tribute decal made at the spectrum. It is the 2nd decal. The first one was oval and looked real cool. I ran it at Perris the week before the Gumball Rally, but I blew up in first place going to the main. I had three options; rebuild my motor for $2200, buy a new motor for $3250, buy a new bike $5800 (priceless), so after weighing the options (checking with my wife) we went for option #3 a new bike. So a new decal was in order. This time I thought a diamond tribute decal would be better, so I ran that at the gumball rally. It looks good, can't miss it. I will run a Randy Wilms tribute decal on my rear spoiler all year if this one wears out. I will get a new one. My best to the Wilms family.
