brits cousin rjacks258 has re-appeared from his cave once again. trying to tell me his 39PWK uses the same pilot as his 38PJ. i happen to have both carbs and tinked with both. they dont use the same pilot, no way- no how. 6-10 sizes different isnt uncommon. is there anybody else out there that has owned, used and tuned both of these carbs that can provide knowledgable input on this matter? and whats all this horse pucky guys talking about 39.5PWK and 40.5PWK???? what the hell is a 40.5PWK ?

mine does...
stock pj 60, my pwk39 60, but I have done a lot of work to my motor. then again, I'm currently 2 turns out on my pwk with the 60, it was perfect at 1 1/2 at dumont in the cold.

39.5 pwk's are out there, not sure on the 40.5 though. the 39.5 ones are off of stock Kawasaki 250's I believe.

Yea.... 10 sizes is about right.

My PJ liked a #55

My PWK is happy at #42

Rjacks is prolly' running cheap-o aftermarket stuff.... where the numbers dont mean jack-shit.

hey, I'm not going to swap the pilot for going from dumont to apex, thats why they put a screw there :D
but in all honesty before I did the porting work, etc. the pwk liked a 55 and the pj was running a 60, so for me it was 5#'s or 2 sizes. of coarse mine being an '86 with different ports, different port timing, shorter rod and more compression is totally different tuning wise than a '90+.

Every single motor of any kind out there is different and will respond best to different jetting.

My PWK has a 55 in it my PJ has a 60 in it. My PJ is on my 86 motor
with all the port work I have and my head work its at 16-1 compression
i run stock jeting for 86. My PWK is on my 01 motor and its a little lean
it likes to run away from its self win I first start it.
