88 with rekluse problems

Post by Mkrct »

I had to replace my inner clutch cover with a later model and since I now have the room to fit a rekluse clutch I installed one.
It’s been a nightmare trying to get it sorted out.
I used a Hinson hub, lifter and rod for a 94 but the “throw” just isn’t enough to disengage the clutch without a completely tensed cable and the lever pulled to the bar.
I’ve added an additional spacer washer on top of the radial bearing and filed the rod to make it “just right” but it’s still a bugger. I ordered asv levers to get a longer lever pull and adjusted the height ring on the rekluse a million times.
Am I missing something?
Do later model clutch throwout mechanisms have a longer throw?
I’m about ready to give up on this rekluse.
Any help is appreciated!
