Case Saver / Chain Guard Question
Case Saver / Chain Guard Question
I know this might be asking a lot but I was wondering if I can get the measurements between the inside edge of the case saver and the chain.. I'm in the process of making a Case Saver for my 1985 Cr500,, I want to make sure I get the proper amount of clearance between the guard and chain.. Too much or too little and it won't do its job right..
thanks
thanks

the whole idea is to not let the link get over the tooth or it'll bust the lifter area.

Here's pics of my '85.
I'm not sure if all years was the same, some here must know this.
If so, I would just get a new one, they are critical.
Also, I always find it interesting to look at backgrounds in posted pics.
Here you'll see my kitchen counter where my '85 bottom end is waiting for my freshly bored and painted top end to go on, right next to the most important piece of equipment I own.

thanks for taking the time to reply.. I knew it had to be close, i was just being over cautious before I mount this one.. it's a spare saver off another bike I have... it will work no problem, i just had to decide how close to mount it.. So basically i'll mount it so the chain doesn't have a chance at all at lifting off the front sprocket..
