gen 2 conversion questions please help

Post by scottkusch »

I'm going to be converting my 00 cr250r to a 500...
Can I use my 250 cdi?
Will my frame hold up after tig welding?
Do I have to reinforce my head stay?
Would it be smart to replace my down tubes completely?
And can I get away with using the 250 rads:? (After I modify the outlet) cooling is my ?
And what kind of power loss am I looking at my fmf fatty off the 250?
And my biggest concern is my Y pipe... Can I hog it out and reinforce it firv the Clarence or do I have to cut it and move it up?
Again I really don't want to split the frame JUMPS IN 5TH

Can I use my 250 cdi?
Will my frame hold up after tig welding? - YES
Do I have to reinforce my head stay? - Redo
Would it be smart to replace my down tubes completely? - NO
And can I get away with using the 250 rads:? (After I modify the outlet) cooling is my ? - YES, no mods needed
And what kind of power loss am I looking at my fmf fatty off the 250? - DONT DO IT
And my biggest concern is my Y pipe... Can I hog it out and reinforce it firv the Clarence or do I have to cut it and move it up? See other builds for proper method. Same as Gen3

- prep and have welded correctly.
The CR500 is an acquired taste. If you don't like it, acquire some taste...
