I just spoke with Robie, and he sounds great!! I've had two other friends suffer head injuries in the past couple of years... and it was sad to speak with them when they got out of the hospital, because you could tell they were "different".... the cadence in their speech, the words they used, the pauses....
But Robie sounded 110% like Robie today!
He is still suffering from blurred / double vision and has parts of his memory to regain, but he's confidant that this will clear up with time.
He's already chucked his cane, and can walk pretty good unassisted. He said that standing on one foot is a challenge, as is walking backwards. I told him thats pretty normal, even for those of us without a brain injury!!
He really likes the facility he's at, and that he can feel himself improve with each and every day. Sonya is a big part of that, and he doesnt know where he would be without her....
