After 508,000+ miles the fifth gear finally gave up.
I hope the rest of the trany holds for another 65 miles to get home tonight. 4th gear @ 3,500 rpm is not going to be fun especailly with other noises going on.
Hey Brit; got any used accords or civics on the lot for under 10K?

We took in a couple of hondas last weekend, I'll post up tomorrow.
Why dont you just get a junker tranny for $200 and slap it in, we used to swap trannys out monthly in my buddies integra, its not a bad job.

I think the guy that did the timing belt F'ed it up last July. Ya my bad for not taking it back sooner but it seemed to run ok. I checked the comp a month ago and 2-4 was at 110 psi and #1 was 70
But that was cold and there could be a leak on my comp gauge. So I'm going to fix that tonight if she makes it home then recheck the comp while its warm but I'm not counting on it being much better.
So I guess I'll pick up a recycler and auto trader and see whats out there for 89 accord motors and trans. Hopefully someone will install them so I don't have to waste Christmas holiday doing it myself.
Oh and I forgot.... The Guiness is on me.

Call around some of the salvage yards for a motor/tranny then all you gotta do is undo the wiring/mounts/hoses/axles and swap it all out!
What motor is in yours?

Thanks Brit. Looks like an engine and trany swap. I found a couple of places near me but don't know of engine availiblity yet. All the ads I see start at 90 and newer. I need an 89 motor. They can probably get'em, I just haven't had time to call yet.
The comp gauge seems fine. I rechecked it lastnight. 115-125psi. Minium per the manuel is 125.
While trying to find a recycler today it jumped out of first couple of times.
Ya that'll get your attention.
