not specifically a weight loss trick, but i was told instead of cutting out all the good food, make sure you get your:
9 servings vegetables and fruit
8 servings grain products
3 servings meat
2 servings dairy products
after all that there isnt much room left for all the unhealthy stuff
im at 142 lbs, power to weight

the 450 will have less power and will be harder to start, and will be heavier, but to make up for it it will require more maintenance.

My mom bought me "husky" size jeans growing up.
I unintentionally intimidated people in school, been 6' since middle school. Often referred to as a big guy most of my life.
The only exception was when I lived on P'cola Beach '87-92, activities kept me around 200.
Married to a beach bunny, had bikes, a boat and booze.
142? Really? You must squeak when you walk

Don't eat grains (bread, pasta), dairy or processed foods
Don't weigh yourself, but measure your bodyfat and waist line
Workout, preferably in a way that makes you stronger rather than the running / cycling long-distance stuff.

I know you are right...and yet I struggle with some of it.
If I eat as much as my body tells me I eat too much. I have learned to slow down my eating to let my mind register it and I am now sort of comfortable never feeling full.
I have cut way back on the breads and pastas but I was raised as a serious pasta eater. I also was a football player where carbo loading was encouraged. This is probably my main struggle as I feel unsatisfied often without my carbo's.
Lastly on the excercise. Again I was a football player, I was forced into the weight room daily for 8 plus years. I hate weights, the smell of weights, the gym, and everything near it. I have a membership I use only when I can't be outside. Riding the bike melts my love of things mechanical, the outdoors, speed, balance, and excercise. I have been riding my 1 speed Schwinn on hilly terrain about 15 miles everyday I can. I have dropped 30 pounds so far with a good 20 or so to go to feel proud at the beach. I know weights would be better and I do a little full body movement circuit in my backyard, man I just hate the gym.
For me for this to be a sucess, and I'm not talking about this contest, I'm talking about not being a fat ass for the rest of my life it needs to be lifestyle changes not a diet. The excercise needs to be something I will stick with. The bike I race home after work to ride, I love it.
The other thing I struggle with is eating late at night. I have essentually been an old school calorie counter for the last 4 months and 30 lbs lost, which will keep you off the carbo's and crap and make you watch it but I can't kick my late night snack...yet anyway. Late night is when I used to binge out, not binge and purge unfortunatly, just binge. I have curtailed it and I save calories through the day so I can have a 100 or so late night knowing the fridge will be calling me and will power alone will not hold the demon back.
It is tough, if you have a problem with drugs or alcohol you just quit. If you have a problem with food you need to find a way to maintain it and gain control over it. I have been struggling with weight since the day I got married, seems there is no carrot in front of the horse (or Rhino as the case may be) that motivates. When I was attempting to stick my little weiner into everything I could find I just didn't have this problem.
My main reason for wanting to lose weight is not ironically for my health, the motivator has been that I want to ride dirtbikes forever. My weight was begining to have an effect on my riding and I felt like I needed to do something or my days on the bike would be numbered. I will always be into bikes I just wasn't ready to only ride the whales (my Harley and BMW) and just turn into a dirtbike polisher.
O.K. well there is the this is my problems novel, I could write a whole book about it but this is good for week one chapter one.

My problem is:
I'm a stress eater
I'm a happy eater
I'm a bored eater
I'm a rushed eater
I'm a "I'll just finish off this bag / plate/ box / gallon of milk" eater
I'm a the better it tastes, the worse it is for you eater
I'm a taste eater
I'm a texture eater
I'm a unconscious eater ( I'll sit down to watch Baseball tonight, Fox news.. whatever.... and I'll eat a whole loaf of bread a slice at a time, and not even realize it....)
It's amazing that I'm not one of those 1,000 lb. wonders on Discovery Channel... The ones where the Tow Truck lifts them out the removed living bay window for a ride to the hospital.......

I'm on it. Yesterday I did my favorite kind of workout. Road the bike all day!reef wrote:223.8
My goal is to be at 195. Crap that means exercise and something other than chocolate for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
I have to be honest I was on the KTM. Minus 3 pounds when I got on the scale this morning (water weight).
Tomorrow I've got a run planned. If I have a heart attack it's been nice knowing ya!

I guess everyone is good at something and there's a champion for everything.
I'd hate to see a heimlich performed on one of those guys during a competition. Everyone would get sprayed with chunks.

Ok, another fat fuck that can't find his cock in a cold shower checking in.
I started my diet march 3rd and as of today i have lost 31lb.
I started at 300 and I'm down to 269.
I did this diet 2 years ago and started at 300lb and got down to 205lb witch is what i weighed in high school. And here is the kicker,I lost all that weight in a little over 4 1/2 months.
I felt a zillion times better when I lost all that weight,I don't do good as a fat fuck.
The diet I was on is based on 1000 cal a day so yea it's tough but it works for me as I lost on average 6-8 lb a week.
My weight problems started when I blew my knee out in my late 30's and no longer was active as I was before, then I quit my 2 pack a day smoking habit and then I gained 50lb.On top of that I have hyper active thyroid from graves disease witch normally makes you loose weight but not in my case
When I gained the weight back last year I blame it on Coors light and bbq chicken, and that fuckin Golden coral....
Where do I send the money?

Weekend breakfast buffet at the corral has been one of my problems.
Oh yeah, my landscape business just doubled.
I spent the last 4 days huffing my ass off. Lost 5 lbs after the first day alone.
I'll know today or tomorrow if I get the other 10 accounts I was promised in addition to the ones I got last week.
I need somebody with a weak mind and a strong back
