ok, want to get some opinions here. Hoofarted has a very clean gen-2 cr250 which he bought new and has been revalved and all done up and he has a gen-1 roller he bought off toymaker. the original plan was to put his '92 motor in his gen-1 chassis, but I started thinking that first off, we don't have any gen-2 conversions on the site yet and his gen-2 is already resprng and revalved and very clean, so ultimately he'd have a better bike converting his gen-2. Then I was thinking he could put his gen-2 motor in his gen-1 chassis and still have a really nice spare bike.
He never rides his gen-2 since he got the 500, so I figiure... why have a fast fun bike and a good handling bike when you can have both
he is a little harder to convince though.

Even if its done FOR him. Only thing you can do further is to swap the tire and ride the bike yurself Danny. Oh wait, is this for the thumper or the 500?

dannygraves wrote:yeay, yeah, both of you ride almost every weekend, but that doesn't change the fact that I've got no one to ride with this weekend
both of you SUCK!
ISBB is the only one, but hes not sure and can't go sunday.
anyway, back on topic...to gen-2 or not to gen-2....
To me its a no brainer, its kinda like a reach around, why not??

VERY NICE conversion. I remember hearing that with the gen-2 you can just grind out the inside of the Y, then reenforce with some supports welded on the outside. But I think that required the used of allen head bolts on the ex manifold. Yours is very nice though. we want to try using the gen-1 kit for everything except the headstay.
