i am never using the word skidplate when talking about a briggs,I like the "Shrapnel Containment Device"...... (aka skidplate) doing its job.

the 450 will have less power and will be harder to start, and will be heavier, but to make up for it it will require more maintenance.

it sucks because I was basically doing to same thing to mine with the exhaust directed through the open door into hoofarted's trailer as a friendly morning wake up on guy trip, would have really been bad if it was the same end result
