Long stashed '88 w/'minor' injury is the motor donor bike.
I have another '88 lower in the OR right now donating the right side cases [god bless it!]
I'm REALLY good at taking things apart!
Still deciding on the recipient roller.

That bike is not an 88 unless it has been updated with newer forks and fuel tank

Funny you should say that as I was just looking at some '88 pics/forks/tank thinking it wasn't.

Ya mean that big sticker that reads
1990 ....
Holy hell.
Well, now that that's cleared up and my aged memory has sufficiently embarrassed me, I'll STFU here till I make some progress..

Wish I knew what caused my case to bust out like that. I found a good right side case on eBay, so I'll have to get back on the 5 hunny.

I wonder if the use of a Roosty compression release would help avoid such destruction......

I dunno but I'm seriously considering a compression release head because not having to hammer the thing can't hurt.....

No longer Gen ?, now it's a Gen 3 Agave style.
Figures the only way to get any respect was to do it myself.

The bike may be a 90 but I think you will find the motor is either an 85 or 86 as the coolant line runs to the rear of the barrel and there is no seperate clutch cover. They have a shorter stroke and run one less clutch plate also
