A quick "How ya'Do", and a photo would be nice.

Morning Gentlemen

Post by Spyder »

Just a quick intro.
I'm in the midwest and have an old steelie with most of the popular mods.
My ID comes from me owning an old 63 Corvair Monza Spyder (Turbo).
I am a member at the other site too (different ID) and I like the idea of a CR500 site for grown ups as well.
I joined here awhile back, I'm Crewman Number 56, but haven't had anything to say that you guys don't already know.
But Bob sent me a PM a week or so ago saying he almost deleted me since I didn't post anything so here's number 1.
I have a question about the photo's at the top of the page.
How do you view them at full size?

You don't. They have been cropped and resized so as not to make loading pages take forever for those users who don't have a super fast connection to the net. Most of the pictures were around 300k - 400k and have been shrunk to about 10k each.

Sweet! If I was gonna get another Spyder, that's the one I would get.
Got pics?

My next fun car will be a 63-67 vette, coupe maybe.
Or maybe a mid 60's Mopar convertible with a hemi.
Or maybe a 58 or 59 Impala convert.
Or a 66 GTO convert.
Well, you get the idea.

Yep Ralph may have stymied the sales of the Vair a little but I think what really killed it was that by the mid 60's there were plenty of other chevys to pick from (Camaro, Nova, Chevelle, Vette, Impala) and they had V8's.
Also high test gas was plentiful and cheap.
The Vair is unusual but even in perfect restored/showroom condition they only bring 10 to 15 grand.

Bob - Excellent specimen you have there!
