motor help

hillclimb motor,running fine in the shop ,cleans out great,reeds are good,under a load on the hill today just started spuddering and cutting out,switched coils,same thing happened on the next run.cdi or stator?

sounds like a jetting issue to me. under a load your bike will be sucking more fuel so its probably rich. hopefully im not wrong so these guys dont eat me alive :D

had a plug "go bad" even tho it was a nice tan color... that would be easy to check
kill switch too
the 450 will have less power and will be harder to start, and will be heavier, but to make up for it it will require more maintenance.

My vote goes for a pinched/clogged fuel line, would take till the float bowl sucked dry to notice so it might not show up in the shop??

new plug and carb is spotlless clean and checked after every race

Do you have a stock gas cap or aftermarket vent?
I've seen issues with the aftermarket vents not vent, float bowl will run low under load, then when you check its all good, it's a bitch the first time, then it's something to look for.

emgo or other crappy brand of teather? had that happen alot, disconnected it and it worked great :roll:

main jet. revs fine all day in the garage but no good in the real world

checked everything last night,no pinched fuel lines,cap is fine,coil is good,used this jetting for 2 years,41 pwk 175 60 1 1/2 dgh3,vp-chp,new plug, putting in a diffrent stator and cdi just to be sure

the tube where the main jet screws into is cracked at the base of the carb,not sure why or how

PJ carb? i bet i have a body if theres no one closer.
Sean probably has a walkway from the house to the garage made out of PJ carbs :lol:

LOL, ed's97 in CT is closer and he has 4 like new ones........
