cr 500 engine in cr 250r 2003 frame
gday guys
i just bought a 1994 cr 500.
i want to put it into a 2003 cr250r frame, any tips, what would be best way to go about it ?
what do i need ??
any special welding, cutting and chopping of frame, any spacers to be used in the swingarm?
this is my first time doing it.
any suggestions would be great
cheers

buy the allballs swingarm bearing kit for the 2003 cr125, the sleeves are correct spacing and the whole kit is the same price as oem sleeves.
Have a look for builds by Pstoffers, or Algava. Theres lots of older links with pictures of how to do it.

I did a 125 convert. Major PITA.
Helping a friend with an algava smooth sailing.

I leave the rails intact, I stretch the chassis like PStoffers
I machined blocks with a flange and an angle that matches the stock tube's twist. Then warm it up and squeak it foreward. In the first pic you can see a stock frame in the foreground.

hey roostius, whats with that bend in the Y in the frame at the back ? is that after the bending? also looks like you cut the hole in the underside of they Y before bending ? does that make it a bit less stressful to bend ?
