2005 CR500AF Exhaust question.

Post by skinart »

Hi everyone,

I have a Service Honda 2005 CR500AF and want to replace the pipe on it, and I would like to know if the normal FMF CR500 pipe will fit or if they are a special made pipe?

Thanx in advance guys

http://www.bannedcr500riders.com/board/ ... light=pipe

aparently the rear mount is in a difrent spot, i got a normal one on the way for my af should be here next week, gonna try the t bolt hose clamp idea
the 450 will have less power and will be harder to start, and will be heavier, but to make up for it it will require more maintenance.

Well I wanted to get it from SH, but when the shipping to Australia is $6 more then the pipe price, its a little steep.

$229 for the pipe, $235 for shipping ... I think the pipe goes on a private jet in first class with champagne.

I found a guy on eBay that will ship the normal 500 pipe for $58, +$185 for the pipe, that rear bracket is not worth $221 to me lol

They told me the box is to large to ship with USPS, and it can only be sent by UPS. Although the pipe I just bought of eBay is being shipped via USPS ... so I dunno what the story is.

I could have understood if it was $70 or $80 or even $100 ship ... but $235 sweet jesus!

Hey 2strokeforever, did you cut the rear bracket off your pipe?

I guess I should have found out how much they ship them for inside the U.S and just sent it to one of my online friends and had them re-ship it ...

Hey 2strokeforever, did you cut the rear bracket off your pipe?

ya, roughed with a grinder, and finished it with a file
its really easy, dont think about it, just do it, then you can fit other pipes, cpi, dep, fmf fatty, stock, doma.... instead of just pc or gnarly

The size of the box only allows for UPS shipping. We do not have another option. Sorry.

No worries mate sounds easy. I actually ended up getting the pipe including shipping for $244, and the clamp cost me $8 ... so saved a few few $$ this way.

I order mine through Ballards in penrith nsw.. You could always use a pro circuit pipe & move the mount on the frame.. I'm near newcastle nsw & have an aluminium fabrication & welding business.. You'll see my AF's for sale on ebay soon.. I'm only planning on selling them for 500 bucks more than it costs to build one.. I'm starting a revolution, Sugarloaf Mountain sounds gay now that 4 strokes have taken over.. Everytime I stop all I can hear is that fart noise that 4 strokes make as they try to accelerate.. It's sad..
Horible noise & shredded metal inside the crank case.. Time to visit the doctor...
