Honda manual carb settings.

Post by Rhino89523 »

The question is what do you guys think of the factory set up settings for altitude and temperature outlined in the factory manual, good or bad?

O.K. a little background, I have read all the carb set up stickys. My bike is bone stock. I am not much of a fiddler, I pretty much ride whatever is underneath me, suspension and carb adjusting is not my strong suit. I run 32 to 1 which is the same as the manuals setting.

Getting ready for Hoonfest...I look in the Honda manual. I check the area where we will be riding and I go with the Honda setting for 1000 to 2500 ft and fron 59 to 80 degrees. I set everything where the book says to put it.

I usually just do what the book says and then ride it, as long as I don't hear it detonating...good enough. What do you think...any recomendations better than Honda stuff.

I know get a PWK...thats just not happening before Hoonfest.

You won't need the PWK for that ride.

Only two things I would do for that ride. I've been there twice but haven't made the last couple of years.

The manual / stock needle is 1368 try the 1468 or DGJ.

Use a 13 tooth sprocket, helps prevent stalling.

Bring Camel pack with lots of water.

Ok thats three........

Appreciate tha advise and all is noted.

Carb assumptions sound O.K. ?

Does anyone else run a stock carb at this place if so what are your settings?
