i havnt got pictures but check out the 2008 model range TMenduro bikes, both the 2 and 4 stroke. the 4 stroke has heaps of room for a 500 engine and there's no "Y" section issues. plus these bikes are registerable with all top quality gear on them. for anyone game to be different there's more options than just honda frames. if i had the money i'd be all over one.

Yeah, you can get them. TM has actually been around for years. I can remember Alexandro Puzar racing one in the World Championships back in the early-mid 90's.Ported&Polished wrote:Never heard of them, probly not available in the USA. Where are they made?
If I'm not mistaken, they're made in Italy. The Italians are famous for their frame making abilities.
Here's a link I found with Google. No doubt there's others who sell them.

they are exotic bikes. it's there 30th anniversary. these bikes have the best of the best in components. billet hubs, etc. basically parts you would see on a factory race bike. they always reckon that if you split the bike and sold it in parts you would double or triple the money you payed for it. these bikes are built to the highest quality. it's basically the ducati of dirt bikes or the ferrari of cars.Ported&Polished wrote:Never heard of them, probly not available in the USA. yes they are italian built. their motors are awesome too. they are pure bread racing machines. not like your girly ktm or the likes these motors have some serious snap about there delivery. they are race bikes. period. not for the general population. they are pricey. probably $13000 aussie dollars for a 2 stroke $14000+ for a four stroke. would be considerably cheaper in the states. cheaper than service honda. i cant express just how good these machines are. these bikes are like porn to me. i'm pitching a tent just thinking about it.

the only reason i put this bike in the AF section was how good would it be to put one of the best, most reliable powerplants in the world in this awesome chassis. sure you would be changing brands of chassis but to be honest the only thing that sold me with honda was the engine. the 500 is simple and reliable with awesome power that will do anything you ask of it. not the bike. "the engine". who really cares what brand of chassis it ends up in. long live the engine, thats whats this AF section is all about.

I used to work with a guy from south africa. one morning he came in and started talking about how pissed he got last night, so I was like "ok, what happened" and he was like "I just got really pissed" and I was like "yeah, and what got you pissed" and he was like "beer" and I was like "what did the beer do to get you pissed" and he was like "I drank it" and this went on for a while before I realied that they say "pissed" meaning they got drunk and he figured out that in the states "pissed" means you got really mad about something. it was pretty funny actually, took use both like 15minutes to figure it out! LOL

Yeah, I knew what he meant by "pissed", I just thought that at around 2 parts pissed, the guy should have turned his computer off.dannygraves wrote: I used to work with a guy from south africa. one morning he came in and started talking about how pissed he got last night, so I was like "ok, what happened" and he was like "I just got really pissed" and I was like "yeah, and what got you pissed" and he was like "beer" and I was like "what did the beer do to get you pissed" and he was like "I drank it" and this went on for a while before I realied that they say "pissed" meaning they got drunk and he figured out that in the states "pissed" means you got really mad about something. it was pretty funny actually, took use both like 15minutes to figure it out! ok. i'm sober now. little bit of a headache. dont mind my drunken dribble. just letting of a little steam because honda won't build us any registered alloy framed enduro weapons. (with the 500 engine of course)
as far as i know these TM's can come in black plastics and rims aswell.

The TM don't handle worth a Sh!t. Couldn't stay in a rut if your life depended on it. And YES, I have ridden one. Late '90's model 250 2stroke. Nice componets, but all was under sprung, had bad valving. Just horrible handling all the way around. However, it was probably the fastest 250 I've ever ridden. The top-end just kept pulling. Nothing on the bottom.
Kinda' like saying my '98 handled like shit so the '07-'08's must too, isn't it?mxracr121 wrote:The TM don't handle worth a Sh!t. Couldn't stay in a rut if your life depended on it. I don't know if the new TM's handle or not so I'm not expressing an opinion on the subject.
Nice looking bikes though.
that seems really strange to me. maybe the suspension was re done on the bike you rode. TM's have always been oversprung if anything. mostly set up for pro riders.mxracr121 wrote:The TM don't handle worth a Sh!t. Couldn't stay in a rut if your life depended on it. Nope, all stock, practically brand new at the time. A small dealer had started selling them and wanted me to race TM's for them. So I was able to try one out. I passed, after I rode it. If he would have given them to me for free, then I would have ridden them. But even at dealer cost it was still more then my cost on YZ's and RM's, and since it sucked anyway, no way in hell was I going to buy them.coley13 wrote:that seems really strange to me. maybe the suspension was re done on the bike you rode. Maybe they are better now, but I really doubt it. A truly good off-road motorcycle would be here in the U.S. in droves (the biggest off-road market in the world). But, fact is, it probably isn't near as good as any of the big 5. As it is, its a bike for someone who wants to be different.CR500R-G3 wrote:Kinda' like saying my '98 handled like shit so the '07-'08's must too, isn't it?mxracr121 wrote:The TM don't handle worth a Sh!t. Nice looking bikes though.
BTW, they build motors for the karting crowd, or did, thats why they have lots of top-end power, and pull forever.
you wont see them in droves anywhere in the world. they are not mass produced. they are hand built motorcycles. sounds like you had a bad experience with the one that you rode. they may of had the suspension combo wrong for that year. see if you can get a ride on a newer model. you might be suprised. bearing in mind not every year model is perfect from year to year regardless of the manufacturer. all the jap brands have had their fair share or lemons from time to time aswell.mxracr121 wrote:Maybe they are better now, but I really doubt it. i had no intention of posting this topic in the AF section for their motors, just an alternative for people wishing to put their 500 engine in a different bike if they dare to be different.
i normally wouldnt of even posted a different brand of bike but the TM's look like a 500 engine would fit quite easily with very few modifications. especially their 4 stroke models

TM still builds ICC Shifter engines (125cc) that compete very successfully in the worldwide karting scene. Properly tuned it makes about 46 HP but requires an intensive rebuild about every 4-8 hours to stay competitive. That is typical of all ICC's.mxracr121 wrote:BTW, they build motors for the karting crowd, or did, thats why they have lots of top-end power, and pull forever.

WOW, thats a lot of HP from a 125. About what 250's put out. Yeah, I would think karting can get real expensive, the way those engines are run.ShanMan wrote:TM still builds ICC Shifter engines (125cc) that compete very successfully in the worldwide karting scene.
