winter tires

well heres what im gonna try first, a half dead D952 theres 3/8th carriage bolts put in form the inside, with big washers and the nuts are countersunk out of the way, and i jammed a pumped up 19" tube in there and am still using the tubliss too, but i could prolly run flat cause of all the centrifugal force tho, just start from 3rd
i still have almost 2 inches room in between the bolts and swingarm, so im pretty sure there wont be any race clearancing...
the thing prolly weighs 40 pounds now tho
it took 4 hours to do...






ride report coming tomorrow, im hoping it helps on the roots too, ill be trying to get up this, theres snow there now tho

but im still going anyways
got screws on the way for the front, and the side rear knobs too

Here are a couple of my first attempts to build ice racing tires.
The screws wont stand up to anything but ice.
Their performance is compromised as soon as they touch anything but cardboard, plywood, or ice.
I gave up on making them, and found it is worth spending the $500 on a set of professionally made ice racing tires, and just swapping out screws when necessary.


You're going for a little bit different type of riding, so I cant really offer any advice as to what you're doing.

well went riding for an hour, and it grips pretty good, but t feels really weird riding, i think i know what it would feel like to have a terraflex
there was about 3-4 inches of snow, i couldnt go fast because the front isnt studded
and the steering damper tightened right up with the cold
none ripped out

finaly got the front done with ice screws, didnt hold air so i was riding on a flat (with the tubliss keeping it seated)
that sucked and made it really weird so i managed to find a old worn bib mouse for $20 and took the tubliss off and used the bib mouse, its a lot of fun installing one, i cant imagine what it would be like to do a new one
havent rode with the bib mouse in yet
rear bolts are really worn, and on a big angle too, so it feels like having marbles instead of knobs on the back, crazy braking power tho
