Piston difference CR480-CR500 ?

Post by blackz34 »

I have a Wiseco 636M09000 here that is said to be for 90-01 CR500. Part # for the CR480 is different (Wiseco).

OEM have the same part #.

Would my piston fit in a cr480 1983 ? I'm asking because I might sell it to someone if it works.

Thank you.

yes it works, the older pistons had a different cut on the intake side, gave more relief to the reed area and less speed to the transfers basically.

everything else is the same, vertex recognizes no difference and makes the piston similar to a late model oem, prox is similar to an early model

run it
