Kind of a purge from my Socal Days, I have more. If you like, I will post rest.

I have had a very tough run of it the past few years. I guess from my demeanor and change of MAJCOM--they took a big liking to me and damn near sucked the life out of me. Been depressed--hard not to admit. I had a long leave of absence from my bike and riding. Not by choice. Work soaked up most of my time...lots of 14hr plus days and deployments. I devoted the rest to my wife and kids. That left zero time to ride.

I have since got hired into a new position. Set hours and an office. I keep Boeing honest with the brass and deal a lot with my command--the colonels pit bull at times.

I will write it up later...prolly tomorrow. I have a co-worker that I turned on to dirt bikes. I taught him how to ride on the 89'er. He hit the powerband and 3rd and was shaking for a while. He did good otherwise. He picked up, with my help, a very very nice 2004 stock CR250. It was pouring rain--fuk ett! We went out anyway to ride...mainly dirt roads. He did very well. I fell in love with my bike again and slinging mud. Good times!

Looks like a bitchen spot! I've been wanting to go out that way for a while. I hear it can be crowded on holidays tho....

It was a bitchin spot to go ride! Bob said they closed most of the cool trails that "we" knew. There was a ton of country that we did not ride or see and a lot of folks have secret trails they dont share. It can be crowded, they loop we ran was about 64-72 miles of mixed singletrack, washes, the rock pile...etc. We rarely saw anyone once you got away from the campin area's. I ran in there once without my GPS with some guys, there is stuff in there that will make you go estrogen just looking at it. Badass hillclimbs if thats your fancy.

Bob and Jay ran in there one winter and got up past the snow line. Thing's almost went Donner Party'ish. Trails were ice, no traction, cold and the sun was going down, tired, people on the side of the trail with a busted bike.... You dont want to break in there.

I almost spent the night in a wash there also. One of my first trips in there. A buddy and I just took off, found a goat trail and followed it in some off-camber stuff and ended up in a wash that we could not get out of....it was ugly. We were gassed, lost and the sun was almost down. Luckily, the wash "t" 'ed into another that had an old trail on it and made it back to the truck in the dark.

I think that was the year when there was a guy or two at the bottom of the hill and I sent Chance down there to ride there bike up so we could get going. He told Chance no one rides my bike but me, and Chance had to hike all the way back up the hill!. I really wanted to kick that fuckers ass when I seen Chance toping that hill walking, and everyone had to turn around for that pice of shit.

is that fuck nut on this board?
