The Tea Party movement was about reducing the size of government and the consequent financial burden on the electorate. When this idea gets hitched to social conservatism, independent voters and libertarian voters get turned off completely. The best thing about her selection was the wake up call it should be sending to the GOP about their election chances. What probability we'll swap progressive big government for social conservative big government. Doesn't the political elite learn anything?
