Asteroid, are you talking about Deni's bike?

Its the same as mine, I used the CR500 rubber snorkel boot thingy with little bit of heat gun help to make it soft, find its home on the carby intake and let it set in place. Should work ok.

Hows his bike looking? Hows your bike going? Will ya be ready in 5 weeks when Im back?
I have been to the top of the mountain and yes it is good.

Don't mean to hijack your thread but, there are a lot of missing images.
I've been researching a build and it's difficult with missing images or bad links. Even some of the stickys are missing stuff.
Gen 2 is what I'm after myself.

I can't remember, but doesn't the 91 have the shorter reed cage?
That may be your issue.
In addition, on my 99, I had to use a 10mm "moose" reed cage spacer to get the 99 250 airbox and boot to line up to my 98 motor perfect.

not sure if any of this helps...

My 01 250 boot lined up fine with my 92 500 motor. It needed some persuasion at first - then some heat; let it set and its good as factory now.
The CR500 is an acquired taste. If you don't like it, acquire some taste...
