Need some advise. I've shredded 2 tires in the last 3 short rides. Build a little MX track around my house until I can afford a screener. Rocks here have very little dirt mixed in. I am hoping I just have one that is very sharp that I'm hitting that I can remove. Finding it may be tricky.

I've lost 2 michellins, a s-12 and a MS3 or what ever they are. Ripping a hole right thru them just off center. I'm running 9 PSI with a tubliss.

I'm tempted to throw on a maxxis, I have a Desert IT and a regular IT on the rack. I was trying to save them for more serious riding and wear out some used tires I dude gave me. Well the free ones are going fast :lol: I have a couple dunlop 739's and 756's on the rack to use too along with more S-12's

I'm running a bridgestone M22 and it's holding up well in the rocks.

ive only got 2 rides on my D952 and its holding up great, i have 18" tubliss and 6 psi
the 450 will have less power and will be harder to start, and will be heavier, but to make up for it it will require more maintenance.

The Maxxis Desert IT lasted the longest for me.
The CR500 is an acquired taste. If you don't like it, acquire some taste...

Wow, you must live on a lava flow.
I don't know a tire that's indestructible.
I use the D756 on all my bikes but I'm aware of the limitations.
I know if I head up to WV at the Hatfield-McCoy I'll likely be missing knobs.
Are you riding only the same area and shredding tires?
What are your friends using?

s12 xc will hold up, I would also run more pressure as low pressure makes them get soft and puncturable really quick.

Michilen Desert, with heavy duty tube at 18psi...it's a winner for rock only environs :twisted:

Desert IT and the 739 work well.
Desert IT is one of the toughest tires out.

s12 xc is too soft. hooks up great, but in my experience starts chunking after a couple of rides.

because your sidewalls CANT MOVE at all its way stiffer on the sides, so i can run lower pressure and have more flat/rim bending protection, and the lower pressure gives me way better traction because the bottom of the tire conforms to the grounds shape...

i bought a rear tubliss, rode it twice and i have a front on its way as soon as i get paid, there that good

talked with jeff at nuetec today. He's the tubliss dude. He said I must be hitting something real sharp repeatedly. Got me thinking, There is a piece of ledge before a jump, better go check it to see if it has a sharp edge.

He recommended a maxxis desert maxxicross IT, I've never heard of one. He claims they are different than a desert IT. Supposedly there are 3 IT's, the maxxicross IT, the desert IT and the desert maxxicross IT.

Got a maxxicross IT mounted up now, just rained tomorrow should be good after I do some scouting for that stinkin' slicer.

7 PSI is what he recommended for the maxxis tire. :shock:

The Maxxcross Desert IT is specially designed compound increases durability in rocky or desert conditions by reducing chipping and cutting.

Maxxcross is the family name, IT is the type, and Desert is a tougher version with the same IT tread pattern.

desert ITs don't hook up very well compared to a lot of comparable tires, but they last forever in the rock stuff.
