yeah, clark county has smogged diesels for a long time. They toss it on a dyno and check for smoke, my '82 c10 6.2 passed
I will probably get a dpf bypass tube and the spartan programmer and come smog or warranty time I will just swap the dpf and set the tune to stock, thats what all the guys online are doing. The spartan doesn't leave any traces and doesn't require any wire or sensor mods, so once it is unplugged and the tune is set back everything looks stock. The dealer will be able to tell that the PCM was recently reset, but they can't prove shit, I can always say I pulled the batt terminals.

so, I think I figured out everyones complaints about mileage. I get great mileage just cruising, if I kept it around 60mph I was well into the 20s, but it sucks down tons of fuel while idling and while under boost. I could sit at a red light and watch the MPG gauge drop while idling and the same when WFO. So I guess pulling an MFDB and letting it idle for an hour while eating breakfast and loading bikes will be a big no no.

just got a call from the sales dude at the dealer... I told him before that I was going to spray the bed and tint the windows asap, so he called to tell me to hold off... I guess the finance chick is having issues with the loan terms and its looking like my payment will be higher than expected, and it was already a bit higher than I wanted to pay. I might be dropping it off later or tomorrow depending on what happens when she calls

This is the time to be really careful, its called "gettin 'em on the resign" if you dont like the terms you dont have to do it.
Dont let them make you think you have to resign

thx, dude, ya, they've got me with that before when I bought my ranger. My foot is down and they know it, if they don't get my payment where it needs to be I will drop the truck off right now. I don't care how far below invoice they go, I know they really don't want this thing back.

same happened to me recently. I actually had them unravel the deal and find a new lender. my payment actually went down. gotta a better interest rate. find a good credit union dude.dannygraves wrote:thx, dude, ya, they've got me with that before when I bought my ranger. LOL, I have a good credit union and they have preapproved me for 2.99% for up to 50,000, but they won't finance negative equity so to use them I'd have to private party sell the f-150, which may not be a bad idea. I'm just gonna go ahead and let the dealer sweat, I never even told them about the CU, we'll see if they can shave down the loan amount some more to get it to where it needs to be.
