Truck is a kenne bell blower with and 88mm turbo and its falling on its face half way down the track.
Ive never seen this before, the guy said it happened while trying to dial the truck in on the dyno. Its a weird setup with the muffler before the turbo.....
after a night of racing my bro in our 1/2 ton chevys i turned on a backroad and was just about at 90mph when it started choking down, wouldnt run unless wfo and was loosing speed fast, got down to 40mph or so and i let off then pinned it again, BOOM a ball of fire out from under the truck like a lighning flash, scared the shit out of my woman. a baffle had broke off and capped the muffler, built up some pressure and it had to go somewhere. it was awesome. dynomax warranty too
Setup and upgrades include 83mm turbo(switched from 76mm),bigger mass air meter, FORE fuel hat w/triple Walbros, 80 lb injectors, aeromotive fuel rails, 200 amp alternator, MSD ignition DIS-4 plus and a few other items.
As someone once said, these compound setups are a bitch to tune. The issues currently are either electrical or fuel related. It has a bad miss/hesitation around the 1/8 mark.
I don't think the slip has an error. My 3rd pass w/major hesitation was 7.67 and 102.13 trap at the 1/8. The 1/4 was 12.32 and 87.12. I called it a night.
After the issues above are straigtened out, I have a question. As you can tell from the second pic, the muffler is set before the turbo. The MAXIMUM boost so far w/104 octane has been 12 to 13 lbs from the turbo. The KB is set at 12 lbs. The compound is around 30 to 34. A c16 tune is next up, also.
The question is: How much more boost will the turbo crank out if the muffler is removed? My tuner has been on turbo forums asking this question. A few suggested removing the muffler for less restriction. The muffler developed a crinkle in the middle of it on both sides from the last tuning session(sorry no pic). Maybe, it is hindering performance.
Does anyone have an opinion on this? I know it will be louder, but it is pretty loud now w/o cats.

what is he smoking to end up putting he muffler BEFORE THE TURBO???
the 450 will have less power and will be harder to start, and will be heavier, but to make up for it it will require more maintenance.
