When I bought the bike and opened it up thats what I found, by all means it was not my maintenance that caused this.

I'll give the carb away for free once my new one comes in, Im sure the float/bowl assembly is still good, just keep an eye out in Britincali's Junk Pile.

Bingo! It was a few months back.....

Quote from xylicon on Jun 11th, 2007, 6:04am:
Yes there was dirt inside the airboot between the carb and the filter, it didn't look like any got past the carb.

The crank/rod bearings are fine, I did a topend & a fresh hone on the cylinder a few weeks ago (everything measures within spec) it added more compression but overall it didn't change how the big ran. Im running a 170/55 jet combo on the stock carb.

I did notice that the slide in my carb is cracked and has a little piece missing and is scuffed up. It does have a little play/wobble inside the carb too, not sure if this is normal.

I believe I posted this pic before but I accidently removed it from my site.

Be careful with this slide mate as I have seen them before get stuck throttles because of the hard facing coming off and wedging the slide a little.
Its not pretty.

I think I ruled out everything except for a possible crankcase leak and or I need to get a new carb.
