tell me about your dyno setup

Post by Roostius_Maximus »

If i want a smooth carted, more accurate reading i should run it in 5th, both my engines that are getting tested are .792 5th gear.
Usually we look for a 1:1 in the trans , 4th i .955, what gear are most guys testing in? 3rd so all 500s are equal?
it wont be run til next week now, but i got the tire i'll run and i'm set to go

i'm not looking for a # to brag agianst really, just going to compare it to my other engine, if he says it reads more accurate i'll go 5th. The other guy that has a land+sea engine dyno says he can pickup .5hp changes, but the crank adaptor doesnt fit YET

Why not just swap sprockets so you can get a true 1:1 drive ratio?

Is a street tire necessary for a dyno pull?

Post by plynn41 »

My local dealer has a mobile dyno, and they've told me to bring any of my bikes by anytime I want to dyno them. They just want a 24 hour notice. I'd like to do my 250, and I definitely want to put the 500 on when the engine is together.

Q: Is it necessary to put a street tire on a dirt bike to do the pull?
