I do have a small preference to the honda's My cousin has a Yz 250 I think a 2000 or so and I wasn't really impressed in the way it works, I think it needs some jet work as it seem way to blubbery and seems to fall on its face in the lower speed stuff.

If you keep the conversion aspect out of the consideration which years and mods would be recommended for the woods. I am looking to stay with the aluminum framed bikes though.

Are the 02-07 Cr125's the same chassis?

Thanks it looks quite straight forward and simple actually. My other small question is what year is classified as the gen 4 like yours? And how about gas tanks will a larger capacity desert tank work ?

Is there any advantages or disadvantages about rolling the motor down or up any? Also is anyone making mounts or head stays to make it easier to position the motor in the right spot? So the stock Y doesnt require any mods other than removing the stubs and placing where needed?

AlisoBob from what I understand is you just cut the y section at the welds top and bottom?? How much did you cut off the downpipe to move the Y up and what thickness tube did you use for the 1 inch stuff? Also am I seeing things wrong or does the 500 motor use the same lower motor mounts?

I was wondering what you thought was the best year and model frame for a AF conversion for something that will be rode in the woods with a 6'3 250+ rider? What year motor should I look for? And is there and good how to's or kits to help locate the motor in the right place?
