id love to but im not that good to race in a national (as well as being out of shape. maybe 125cc class but def not open class). i would definately like to go watch though and check out the swap meet

thanks, it's a work in progress. one thing i do recommend is disc brakes! it was night and day for me. the '87 forks soak up the jumps ALOT better as well. i was thinking of doing an ohlins rear shock if i could find a used one.

i bought a sheet of polyurethane on ebay and cut it to fabricate a chain slider. works pretty good just make sure it is the right durometer

he put alot of $$ in that. i wish i could find good quality side covers like his. i have the cheap dc plastic ones. let me look through my parts bin and maybe we can make some trades, i have some '82 parts i bought that dont fit. the frame is white, i like the red white and blue scheme. like the old...

the holes on the basket look wallowed out, i gues im going to have to locate a basket. its an '82 bottom end. will a '81 450 0r '82 250 basket work? i know the '83 is a different ring gear

its an '83 but the bottom end is from an '82 (4 speed)

rivets loose on clutch basket

there is play between the ring gear and clutch basket. is there a fix? is it ok as is?

i havent been on here in a while but now i have regained interest in finishing my 480 project. i m waiting on the gaskets to arrive and then ill post some picks for everyone :D

I thought that might be it so I replaced the rod the steel ball and the tip, as well as the arm and it didn't help. this thing is driving me crazy. I have the cable completely adjusted out and it still has play.

my 87 cr250 is having clutch issues. i have replaced the cable and everything internally except the basket and inner hub, pressure plate. its isnt slipping, its almost like the clutch discs are too thick. i thought i had the wrong cable but the new one was identical. i took the hub to basket spacer ...

whats up, i just found this site a couple a weeks ago and thought i would join, i always find a good laugh. i am into '80's dirtbikes as you can see from my sig, anyways i am currently restoring an '83 480.
