nice we have the charging gear to do the shocks in the shed the most expensive part is the nitoge regulator ifyou have one protect it like 600 dollars worth Its not difficult to piece together a kit for less than half that.

I was able to find an unused regulator secondhand for $50, tank was $80 ...

I have an SFB cover on mine. Its built well but takes a little tweaking of the brake pedal and kickstarter to fit. Its supposed to hold a little more oil too.

I don't understand why you are looking at OEM needles for other bikes, just call up sudco or CPW and order exactly what you need. The G in the middle of a keihin # is the same as the N at the end of the honda # which signifys ...

1473L is very strange, closest match on sudco is DEP, 1470N is bobs magic needle DGL, 1470D is DCL which is same as CGL but longer L1 which is what your asking about. maybe you better have a glance at bobs jetting 101 :lmao:

There are a bunch of odd OEM needles around.

Your code conversions don ...

That one doesn't have the OEM D needle on it, but you can interpolate to figure out the specs. I found a chart a while back that did list all the in between OEM needles that aren't shown on that one. I think it was on KTMTalk, but I'd have to dig to find the thread. There was a good thread on ...

I found a table that had some of the OEM needles in it, but can't find it now. I recall that OEM B, C, and D needles fall in between Keihin B and C needles (which fits based on the L1 spacing of the Keihin needles). So the D needle will be something around 4.5 clip positions richer than the N needle ...

100hp honda wrote:man that sucks. you sure the bearing is bad, or just the seal ?
There is noticeable up/down play in the bearing.

The seal was replaced along with the piston rings.

So to drag up an old topic to give closure.

I re-rung the piston and the bike ran strong (except for some low throttle jetting issues surrounding a PWK swap) for two races. The next time I rode it the left crank bearing apparently had developed some play and it sucked air past the seal. It started ...

Yeah, I really should just buy a spoke set and an excell wheel, re lace and be done with it.

Seems like a such a PITA to find to find the proper (1/2" longer) spoke set. Any recomendations on a good source that knows the proper spoke set?

The hubs are the same so the stock 250 spokes probably ...

Thanks for all the input. I'm going to hone and re-ring then reassess things when racing takes a break for summer. I'm getting tired of riding the couch.

Top End Question

I tore down the top end on my 500 after the compression was noticeably dropping and found the piston and cylinder to both still be in spec. My original plan was to send the cylinder off and have it plated, but that turned out to not be in the cards just yet.

So yea, the question is in the poll.

Jetting is also going to depend on mix ratio but I dont see the gnarly needing much if any more main jet than the stock pipe. I've been running HP2 @ 40:1 and my bike runs good WOT with a 160-165 main depending on elevation and temp. Pilot is 52 in most locations. 1368N needle but really needs a ...

Can I pre-order radiators and levers?

The hardest part of this ride is the need to stab your foot down from time to time on the low side of off camber slopes.

There is also some log hopping to be had. Its ...

I got my gasket today and hopefully will be up and running later tonight.

I have room in the motorhome if anyone wants to carpool up from OC area. It would make a whole lot more sense than me driving it up by myself.
