I have seen 3 of those in the last month.
One 450 and two 250's.
The intake valves start to "tulip", pull up into the head.
I predict there will be a LOT of these deals coming along.
A grand is on the mark if you're putting a new piston in also.
He is a riding buddy from the freestyle sportbike ...

FS 2002 CRF450 with bad valves

Up for sale is a 2002 Crf450 with bad valves. My mechanic friend says it will be almost a grand to fix so I am selling it as is, minus the carburetor for $900. Comes with all the spares in the picture, but no carburetor. (I am keeping to swap on my DRZ)

Bike is located in a suburb or Detroit.

you dont need a new carb if you flush your fuel system with gas after your done each day never let the alcohol sit in there or you will have corrosion problems. the carb you have can be set up to run it just fine. other than jetting it really really rich theres not a whole lot to it. Nevermind, I'm going to rebuild the one piston, get it put all back together, clamp that piston and pop out the stubborn one. :cool:

Brake caliper

So I am working on rebuilding the master cylinder and Caliper on my bike. One piston came out fine, but the other is frozen in place, Any ideas on how to get it out?

but if the 86 and 87's had the most power, and the 13 and ups had the best transmissions, clutches, and water outlets, couldn't you make a hybred engine out of a 86/87 jug/ head and a 93 and up case? It's an old beater I bought for $500. Got about $650 total in it right now. Just you average 20 year old dirtbike. Came with new tires, sprockets, chain, seat cover, side panels, and CR fenders that fit fine ...
