1985 CR500 Waterpump question
I just picked up a pretty darn clean 85, 500 for $1000. The water pump housing has a lot of corrosion though. Does anyone have an idea if the newer models will interchange? It looks like the hose outlets are pointing in different directions. Thank you

PWK 39 jetting question
I just bought a PWK 39 from Sudco who says they are going to send it with their recommended jets in it. I have an FMF Gnarly with their Turbine Core muffler, on a stock motor 89 mm piston and no porting. I have been running the old PJ Carb with: 175 Main 55 Pilot Stock 1368 needle 2nd Clip 2 turns o...

You guys are awesome!! One more, and I'll shut up!! When you convert the older clutch mechanism to the more modern unit, like the 01, do you have to replace the entire left side cover that the individual saucer sized clutch cover bolts to? I can pick up this 89. I'm ok with the shorter 4th and 5th g...

Issues with the 1989 motor??
I have a chance to pick up a 1989 500 for $1000. I know that these have a smaller clutch assembly and was curious if this meant I should stay away from it. Are there issues with getting clutch baskets? Can an 89 be converted over to the larger clutch assembly like the later model 500's? Lastly, are ...

That is funny you asked. I started thinking about taking my wheels apart, bead blasting the hubs and rims, then having them powdercoated, replacing the spokes and bearings and replacing and truing the wheels, and finally remounting the discs, sprocket, rim locks, rim wraps, and putting the old tires...

Wheel swap and CP500 kit frame grinding question...
Hey folks. I have a 2002 cr250 that I'm using for my 97cr500 motor. I was wondering if my 97 500 wheels will fit on my 2002 cr250 frame and forks. The reason I am asking is because I'd prefer to run the 18" rear wheel on my finished 500 project. Does any one know if those 97 oem wheels will fit...

That is awesome. I have been in touch with Brent over there at conversion parts. It is great to see your endorsement. I have the parts on the way and I know a really good guy who is qualified to TIG weld. That is a great looking bike. This is going to be musical chairs. I have a newly plated cylinde...

CR500 conversion reply...
I really appreciate the reply. I'm sure you guys know a lot more about this than I'm ever going to know. I am sold, and am going to convert this 02 gen 3 frame. It almost feels like Devine intervention because I have always been crazy about the 500 since I got my first 87. Then one day a $700 gen 3 ...

Aluminum Frame question from new member, Cody
I am really glad to have been included in this group. I own a 97 and a 94, both of which are very clean and have Rekluse Z Start pros. Last week I picked up a 2002 Honda CR250 that just needs a top end. I only paid $700. My question is how much better do these 3rd generation frames handle? I'm prett...
