my dad picked up a 00 cr250 last year that broke the rod near the wrist pin and punched a hole in the cylinder. put a new jug and a rod kit on it and we've been riding it ever since. PC pipe and silencer/spark arrestor. he paid $1000 for it.

sounds similar, just something else wrong with the motor.

The bike is Sheer Joy to ride. Light, nimble, suspension ( Resprung Only) is spot on, and I could have rode that thing all day. thats what i thought when i first rode my 250r, just WAY underpowered. glad to hear everything went well, makes me looking foward to getting mine done that much more. ques...

i machined these on the lathe out of 1" solid 6061. should make a great front motor mount. https://bannedcr500riders.com/images/auto/cbdbf67a45c30e62bb75e82003246ada.jpg here it is installed, you can just see spacer plate on the back side of the frame. https://bannedcr500riders.com/images/auto/...

i did check the clearance on the pipe and the radiators, thats why i assembled the bike a few days ago. i did not put anything inside the frame at the lower joint. i feel there is nothing wrong with properly prepped butt joint as long as the penetration is there also. your Y does look a little highe...

i ground the downtube on mine. it was fairly easy. just don't go up too high. the front of it is thicker that the rear, so i took more off the front than the rear.

i know that hill, i walked up and down it many times as a kid. they held harescrambles there a while ago and we rode in the woods next to that. this last year they started running harescrambles there again.
