Wonder why the karters would want a 99-01 cr250 stator /flywheel on a 02 CR250?

I have a 98 CR250 flywheel as well and the pickup point on that flywheel is approximately 9mm further left (counter clockwise) with the key ways lined up,than the one on the 02 flywheel. Would this preclude the need to elongate the stator mounting holes to get more advance? NO, the pickup could be ...

Not someone that just has a blown up crf250.
