Folks, that was a new HotRods crank with about 2 hours on it. My friend who did the build has got tons of experience and did the job right. He assured me he won't use HotRod cranks again. I took the engine apart today and the head is undamaged. The cylinder almost survived, but not quite. I'll have ...

Ready to start the conversion.
I brought home the '05 CRF250R tonight. Connecting rod snapped and took out the cases. Cost me $700. Tomorrow I'll tear it down and see what can be salvaged and Ebayed. I'll keep a tab for what this project costs me. Planning on putting an '88 CR500R engine in it. Will be making the contacts for the...

Connor's Second lap
His second lap goes better, but check out the head shake when he's shutting the engine off--like he's mentally exhausted.

He has a little trouble on the first lap. I know I look like a moron running behind him.

God knows I try to be unbiased, and I really want to believe in the equality of all men. But there is something BAD wrong with black culture that allows this kind of thing to happen so often. I hope, that if I had had the fate of being born black, that I would have stood up and screamed over this ga...

I may offer the guy $1000 then and see if that'll buy it. The chassis is race ready, except for needing new tires. Plastics are perfect. Fellow was running a big bore kit on it and the rod snapped in half going full boogy over a big gap jump. Wadded him up in a ball when he landed--he told me he saw...

Fair price for '05 CRF250R roller?
What's a fair price for a ready to ride '05 CRF250R complete roller? Engine is grenaded--total loss except for transmission and carburetor. I found one today that belongs to a fellow local rider an offered him $700, believing I can Ebay the exhaust, carburetor and maybe transmission for a couple hun...

Wow! Let me count the cool stuff in this post. 1 You were fortunate to have a young family AND your bike at the same time. 2 You had a kid not afraid of the bike. 3 You had a video camera to record it. 4 You had a wife smart enough to use the camera. 5 You had a wife who trusted you to ride your so...

I tell ya what guys, I think I must have broke a wire that comes from the stator when I was putting it together. I started the bike with the CDI hanging over the frame. The radiators weren't mounted and the tank was sitting loose. It wasn't till after starting the bike that I figured out how to moun...

Stumped on getting the bike to start
I've read all the starting drill and jetting threads multiple times, but I'm stumped trying to get my new engine to start. I started it twice last month easily (using the drill, thanks guys), but never rode the bike (didn't have tires, chain, etc.). It was 50 degrees out then. Now the bike is comple...

I've got a friend who is a supervisor at the Anheuser Busch brewing facility here in Jonesboro AR. Recently, he saved a man's life by pulling him out of a running augar. Seems that the man had climbed down into the augar when it was locked up, but didn't bother turning off the motor. Obviously a dis...
