Hey guys,
I have 2 builds,
1 2005 CRF250F Build
1 2002 CRF450F Rebuild- it was a hack job, the headstay was not done right and cradle is cracked
In any event, my 250F didn't come with rads, and the 450F modified rads are munched.
I am looking for input.
The 450 rads look almost too long. Theer is near zero clearance around the pipe,
should I use 250R or 250F rads? which will be easier, and fits around the pipe better?
Please gents, 1st hand info or link to it would be great.
Concise accurate info is what I need before i order $$$ buy radiators in the next day or 2.
Thanks,
Lyle

I run the stock 250x rads.... they cool much better than the CR500 rads.
I plumbed them to copy the CR500 coolant path ( two hoses from the head, one to the top of each tank)
Works flawless...
The CRF250x rads will fit your CRF250f shrouds...
Buy them, and send them to soliD brO to have the nipples swapped out.

Thanks Bob,
I have been referring to your build and paying close attention.
I will mod the x rads like you say, for both bikes.
I think I will try the acerbis tank livendiesmokin did though, his clearance was impressive,
and a 99 CR250 airboot, like balclava did in the end.
I have pauls motor mounts, and solids rad fittings, and micks jig.
1" radius corner 6000 aluminum, and 1x3/4 solid stock.
Things are ready to go!

Cant be, the rad outlet and water pump inlet are different sizes.

thats why the rad outlet goes to the right rad which is the modified one...
i know for sure the left rad ISNT MODDED, i just looked, and a while ago i spoke to someone at SH and they told me so

haaah haha . I could see where this was headed!
I noticed the CR250 rads, have tapered bottom shells on outside ends, which will give more clearance on the pipe.

Use the 01 CR250 rads, newer may work but look different when I built mine... You may still have to have the left side cross over rotated up a little, but other then that they should bolt right up.

Thanks eyesky.
I found a pair of 01 rads in mint shape with all the hoses and the guards for $90.
I will check them out on both bikes and then make a decision on what to chase for the second bike.
You guys are great bunch...
