i think that was the name. anyways was looking at one today in the gas station. a while back some dude from another site figured out FI and installed a setup on the banshee and had it working tits. aparently someone finally took notice and theres a article about it in this months mag. pricey but its frikin sweet.

what kind of FI direct or the 4 stroke if it was direct into the head that would be sweet and ill be saving my $$$ for that
or when the FI KTM 300 comes out look and see its swapable to the 500
advantages of direct FI
BETTER mileage than 4 stroke of same power level
need direct injection oil, but uses wayyyy less, because theres no gas in crankcase washing the oil away
perfect jetting everywhere
cons
electrical crap, but that usualy works decent while its new

do you have acess to the magazine ? if not i can get you his number, dudes name is kevin if i recall. just glanced through the mag but im going to buy it tomorow. not sure on this newest setup but he did one while back for a banshee that ran sand dunes with e85..... no jetting, made like 3% more hp, saved a ton of cash versus race fuel. high price tag will be the drawback.

I read awhile back in Dirt Rider that the Carb is still better for top end, and that it can still be easier to tune then EFI. They make some sweet stuff for carbs now to make tuning easy so I will save my $$$ and not buy EFI.

but no carb will ever be able to get the efficency even close ever

Yes I know that but I have Jetting my bike down to a T and it works for me so unless I buy a bike equipped with EFI already I wont invest in trying to convert it to an older bike its simply not worth the extra cash

i understand, but it would be pretty sweet to get the same or better mileage as a 450f,no matter how much the ports are opened and or raised, that would save me refueling every lap on 60 km races

i thought the big deal with this efi setup is it eliminates tuning and jetting

... everything done by the computer, i think. this is the dude making it, he could tell you better than me, hasnt updated his site so there aint any info posted yet. i know i want one

. after reading the article they did run that bike in the mag off e85, originally i thought it was gas.

EFI FTW!
I went riding a couple months ago at really high elevation without so much as a hiccup. Everyone else had to rejet and their bikes still ran like crap. My bike always starts and always runs like a top. I've also got a powercommander which allows me to plug a laptop in to make any changes to the map. The map is always the same, it just automatically corrects for temp and elevation, so like if I wanted to give it more fuel at 2000 rpm at 80% throttle, I could and that change would remain constant. If you do that with a carb, it will not be the same the next day or at a different spot.

thats why i want it, once its dialed it wont need to be messed with and the jetting will be perfect everywhere, elevation, temp, you cant get that with a carb, at least not for long
