My kid is all over me to get this .22 cal semi-auto rifle.

Dont know much about Armscor, online they have a good rep for building cheap guns that work well.

Any first hand experience???

dude, I would just get him a ruger 10/22. You can get any choice of hunderds of dress up options to make it look cool like the black stocks, etc. but they are cheap, reliable and acurate. I still have mine, it was the first gun I ever bought and I will give it to seth in a few years

...a few years?

I've have an old gallantry style Rossi .22 since I was 14. Always reliable and super accurate. Plus I have another Marlin .22. Great rifle as long as it was kept clean. Danny is right about the Ruger 10/22. Great rifle! Turner's just had em on sale IIRC.

there is literally a TON of aftermarket support for the 10/22.

mine has a folding ramline stock, i shot out the standard barrel on my 10/22 in 8 years, probably a pallet of ammo. I shot 6 bricks in the first 3 days of getting it
The brilliance of the ruger is the action carries the #, you can swap any barrel onto it without changing paperwork AND theres nothing that ever needs replacement that cant be found almost same day.

i'd stay away from the sliding or folding stocks tho, get a rigid one that you can adjust the butt on or add to later. If you try to do accurace shooting those fancy looking stocks are a rattle trap and flex, squeak, twist when you're trying to hold steady. a thumbhole stock or whatever you can find that doesnt feel like licorice.

I intentionally got the light barrel on my 10/22 because I shoot it iron sight, I like it that way, reminds me of being a kid shooting my old daisy pump bb gun

Not sure what cost they are up to, but when I got mine, the light barrel was like $160 and the heavy forged barrel was like $250. My buddy Jimmy got the forged barrel and I didn't like it, it was too heavy for a .22 and then required glass since there weren't any sights.

$160 was the whole gun, not just the barrel, btw.
