i ended up bashing my pipe today almost hits the radiator, and ignition cover and is touching the frame so whats the best way to fix it?
i want to make it closer to its original shape, is that even possible?

whats the best way to save my pipe next time? , other than not bailing


whats the best way to undent a pipe, ive tried plugging the ends and putting 60 psi in it then heating the dings on my 125, it worked but not great because i dont have a oxy acetelene torch.

ive also heard water/freezer works, will this make my pipe its original shape, or just push the dents out?

i also heard plug the ends and put a few cups of hot water in it, then heat the dents

btw the tubliss setup hooks up, i broke the stock fender in under 2 hours, it lasted 2 months before the tubliss

I've used the plug and heat for years - works well. Much of it is technique - in starting the heat (with bigger dings) from the outer area, but, of course, having a torch without enough heat makes it bloody hard.

Freezing - can / does work - sometimes. but it goes for the weakest areas, so to speak. Not necessarily the dings. And it can take a lot of experimentation with the fill volume. A lot of people end up with split pipes, or pipes that split very soon after they use it again. but I've seen it work out at times.

I've never thoughts about steaming a pipe - and never even heard of it before. There's a head scratcher......I guess it might make for a more rapid pressure build up. Perhaps heating the pipe over a large area, cherry reding a ding, some water in, then sealing the pipe and continuing the ding heating?

Plug and heat.
Use the yellow bottled gas though, a regular propane torch won't work.
Make sure you get the plugs tight because they'll shoot off like a rocket.
Take your time.

Sounds like you have more than just dent problems. Often when you hit hard enough to smash it it also bends some where in the small loop where it is connected to the cyl. I've wedged them in forks of tree limbs and pulled them back a little. Also used heavy nylon lifting straps, one hooked to the ass end of a fork lift and one to overhead hoist to pull some bend out. Been able to make them fit better but never get them back fitting perfect.

i use bungs, one bung i have has a tire valve in it so i can put compressed air into the pipe with some gentle heat and the dents pop straight out i had a dent the size of a stubbie in one of my rm pipes and it came straight out with only a small wrinkle left

This is exactly what i used to do & wire weld any splits, i lost my bungs when i moved from Melbourne to Darwin, 8yrs ago......Greg you got the capabilitys to make another set.......i'll $ ya

Thats why i never get nickle plated pipes you repaire them & they look shit with a big purple heat mark on them.

2stroke...i run 100psi in my chambers when heating out a dent....no it wont.

I just spent a few days freezing my pipe. It works SLOWLY. I was expecting to pop it out in one freeze. My pipe has several dents and was mis-shapen (staring to flatten tawords the outlet) and with the freezing it got better. Better to the point of more useible.

I froze it 3 times with partial thaws in between.

I need it to run the bike now but plan on doing another 2 or 3 freezes this winter to touch it up.

it's better than spending the dough on a new pipe...

I used expanding plugs from the hardware store

if you do the torch, get deep well freeze plugs. i had a little one from the hardware store. there wasn't enough rubber to hold it in with the pressure.
