Alright I have a crf250 07 that's blown and I don't want to fix it, has anyone done the conversion on a twin pipe 250?
Does anyone build frames like team trubble? I think the framework is more work than I want to handle but I would mind sending my frame to a competent builder.
Does anyone fo full conversions if I send them a rolling chassis?
How much should I have in a completed bike minus the rolling chassis? I know engine prices and welding costs differ but a ballpark figure would be cool.

Animal power is $1,200 if you send him your frame and rads. Maybe I was the unlucky one but I waited 5 times longer than quoted. Happy with the product though.
MPS website has not been updated for price. Last I called they were quoting $900-1100 depending on model. Mixed reviews on quality.
I keep hearing great things about pstoffers but have not made contact with him.
And of course as you may have seen the warnings, stay away from Team Trouble.

Haro: I'm a newb here. Hopefully I don't come across as negative. (Goes for any other poor sap reading this) I made the mistake of getting my frame modded at MPS. The shop royally screwed me. Long story short, got the frame home and when I started to assemble it, the motor would NOT fit down into the tabs welded on the frame. Period. Spent some time filing and grinding on the tabs and finally got it down in between. The cases hit the tabs before the holes lined up. By half the diameter of the motor mount holes. More grinding, filing and swearing. Finally got it close but no cigar. Because once I put the swingarm pivot in(or tried to) the motor is out of square to the frame the THICKNESS OF THE PIVOT BOLT!! Now I'm no fabricator, but shouldn't the motor run true off the swingarm and you locate everything else off of it? This frame job was a PIECE OF SHIT!!!!! I put 3 hours into it to come up snakeyes. Called the guy I should've called in the first place who has 40 plus years as a welder/fabricator. The man is a GOD in the business. We put another 10 hours into it to get the motor to fit properly. As an FYI, 10 more just finishing the frame off to take home so I can do the airbox and fuel tank. Be warned. MPS, in my opinion, not the place to deal with.

SOLID BRO is doing frame work. He welded two different bikes for me and modded the heads and radiators. Everything lines up great and I heard he now has a jig to make it fit together better than stock.

If you're in Canada i've been dooin some, a few gen1 250s, built y sections and parts for the gen2 250s, gen3 125, 250 and 450s, gen 4 250f's
Usually those are winter projects, but i do case repair, porting, cylinder bore work, decompressors and squish modifications year round.
If guys run into needing the 6061 tube i send it wherever too

correct. funny how a average guy like yourself can understand but a professional shop cant figure it out. alot of scabs out there.

My first frame went together all crooked which ultimately results in stress cracking and screwed up swingarm bearings. I sent it to the welder square but you don't have any control over what happens while he welds it.
Frame #2 I welded myself and continually re-squared and tweaked it- motor goes in like butter.

i took my frame to the welders (then to become my curent & most enjoyable employment) with the motor & swing arm bolted in at the correct tensions, they spot welded it into place, i then raced home dissasemble the frame & had it fully welded in.....looks good, looks OEM, & it fits like a glove.
tacked in place
Welded in place
I kept my frame brace...in my opinion if Honda needed it for a 250, then you can bet your bottom dallar it would be needed for you 500 refit....we here so much about vibes i know my frame should have alot les harmonics.
& it should look like this
I didnt use the fiddly washers...i made spacers/collets like the OEM units with the extra material on them
