Who makes the best springs for a fat fuck?
350lb novice rider.
2003 cr250/500

yes I no if I lost weight I would have a better chance at a good suspesion.
I'm looking for something that going to get me close. Any thing is better then stock.

You're looking for a 0.59-0.60 kg/mm fork spring and a 6.3 shock spring. The Eibach shock spring part # is 892.0063 for a 2003 CR250R. I would call RaceTech to see if they have the 987 in a rate higher than the 0.46 advertised.

I think the biggest fork spring race tech offers is .48 and I think they have a 6.4 rear availible. I will have to call them and find out.

Yeah who needs oil I should just do it big and use 100psi cosidering my weight. Better yet I should run a solid chassis and weld som t6 stock in where the forks and rear shock go. I think I may be on to something what do u think? BOOM!

Race Tech springs ARE Eibach just coated in blue instead of charcoal grey. Im pretty sure we can get fork springs over .48 from the distributors and we can also special order them from Eibach so anything they make we can get. It costs a bit less than $100 if I remember right. Lemme know if you need some more help. BTW Race Tech has the best calculator on their site you can use all you want:

Yeah see that's the problem... I do jump it quite a bit. I'm no bad ass hucking 90 footers or anything but I do go out to the track quite a bit only thing is it's on the 1997 stealy 5 hundo with stock suspension.

I'm bad with names. He lives off trop and russell. He's a big guy as well. Kinda reminds me of roy big country Nelson off ufc. I don't think he works there any more. I just tryed to look at the label in some parts he sold me all it says is thumper talk. The bike is all black.

I ran .52's on my steelie.... pretty friggin stiff. Never bottomed them even with pretty loose valving that softened the initial stroke.

.6's would prolly loose 4" of stroke durning normal riding.

You said the Fork rate should be a .59 the closest I could find to a .59 is the .53 from factory connection.
And yes I do jump like i said but nothing like the big drop step up triple out at svmx park.

Wook, spring rate controls your "ride height", dampening controls what you feel as "harshness". If you were to remove your springs (or put in the lightest spring they make) and leave the valving the same they would still be just as harsh. The only difference is your suspension would now "pack down" really badly...

More important than valving is the correct spring rate for your weight, no valving in the would will work correctly if your springs are too soft (you will ride very low in your travel, near bottoming all the time) or too stiff (you will be cruising around nearly topped out all the time)...

Springs first, if you cant do valving at the same time, if the suspension is harsh, valve it plusher, too soft, bottoming all the time, valve it stiffer.

Having the wrong springs and trying to valve the forks is like having the wrong needle in your carb and trying to adjust it my changing main jets...

Yeah the jump on ur avatar lol. I'm picking up what ur puttin Down. My problem is it has stock springs. It rides low and bottoms often. I'm 350 lbs of course. So I want to spring it for sure. What kind of valving should I do? I'm not to smart when it comes to suspension and Sam at SAMs cycle wants to much dn money to do it.

You forget were talking about CR500's..... When you ride, the front end is artificially "light" due to the available torque. It seems these spring calculators always forget this fact.

Oil level and spring rate have way more to do with bottoming resistance than valving on fat boy setups... trust me.

If you rely on only valving, the ride will be really harsh.
